Neon Driftline

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Neon Driftline throws out the brake pedal and hands you a lift-to-drift system that's easy to learn and hard to master. You steer with tilt or touch, ease off to break traction, and chain corners for a boost meter that feeds the next straight. When it flows, it really flows.

The tracks are neon-city clichés, and that's fine — they read clearly at speed, which matters more than originality. Car handling differs enough that unlocking a new ride actually changes how you drive rather than just bumping a stat.

There's a light career mode and quick single races for when you've got two minutes. Tilt controls are optional, which we appreciated on a bumpy bus. Pure arcade fun with no pretensions.
