About

Pocket Playbook started as a shared chat between four friends who kept sending each other screenshots and tips at 2 a.m. At some point we realised we were writing better guides than half the stuff we were reading, so we made a site for it. Nothing fancy, just people who play a lot and like explaining things.

We cover mobile games because that's what we actually have time for. A commute, a lunch break, ten minutes before bed — that's the natural habitat of these games, and it shapes how we test them. Every guide comes from real hours on a real device, not a press release.

Games get picked for coverage the boring, honest way: we look at what's climbing the charts, what readers keep asking about, and what we personally can't stop playing. If a game is too shallow to write about, we skip it. If it's dense enough to reward a proper guide, it gets one.

We're independent. No publisher tells us what to write, and no score gets bumped because someone was nice to us over email.

Lena Vogt — Lena has been writing about games for over a decade and still keeps three phones charged so she can test builds side by side. She edits everything that goes live and referees the team's endless genre arguments.
